What competes with Reason, Fruity Loops, Acid, etc?
I want to make some synthesized orchestral music without an external keyboard. What are the best music programs for doing this. I was recommended Reason, but I'd like to know what else there is, or perhaps if there's anything better I can use, even if it costs a bit.
Your answer is interesting as my friends who like to pirate say Reason 4 is so protected it can't be cracked and that there's no torrents etc for it.
Anyways, I'll try them all for now, but I want to hear some new names...
Each of those programs actually do different things. For what you want to do I would get Reason 4 with the Orkeseter refill package.
Edit: Here is a new name...well not new but not one you mentioned. Sonik Synth is a good program, it has a good orchestral program that can work with it as well. But Reason is better. I have both.

is fruity loops 8xxl better than reason 4 and logic 8?
My dad keep telling me to use reason and logic but I make good beats on fruity loops then I do in logic and reason and also why doesn't the M-audioi 61 key auto map itself to fruity loops
Whatever works for you and you're comfortable with. I like Fruity Loops alot myself. I'm not that familiar with the other 2, I do know that Reason 4 is more complex and may have more options but it all comes down to what works best for you
