What kind of voice filter (VST effect) can i use to obtain a vocal sound similar to black metal vocals ?
I.m sure black metal bands (like Cradle of Filth) do have some real-time effect on the microphone because the voice sounds really unusual.
its their voice. trust me; i've seen many black/death metal bands live, and they do it. there are no "special effects". the noise comes from deep in the throat.. its called "breeeing".. its hard to explain how to do. sorry; you're just going to have to do it, theres no filter.

Pro Soundtrack Creation
Industry standard for Music creation / editing / mixing?
Hi,
There are so many programs out there for audio editing and creation, but it would be good to have one that does it all and is industry standard as well.
I've seen a couple but don't know which one is better and what each one does for example; apple logic pro, pro tools, soundtrack pro, vdj, ect.
If anyone has any experience relating to this field it would be much appreciated, don't be afraid to lash out on information im willing to read everything, the more info better chances for best answer!
The industry standard DAW is Pro Tools. This does not imply that it is any better than any other DAW, just that it is more widely used. All DAWs do pretty much the same things, it's all a matter of preference.
