How To Become A Successful: Producer, Rapper, Actor, etc.
How can i become a successful rapper without really creating my own music to become recognized?
I want to become a rapper and recognized within the next 9 years. Im good at writing lyrics but i do have a voice. i want to do it because I love music. Anyone know any steps, friends, family you know and how they achieved their goal of becoming a songwriter, singer, rapper, producer, etc?
If anyone can answer this question, it would be great. THX
I am a profesional songwriter, what you need to keep in mind are labels are changing, the industry is being re-shaped. Things are ALOT different now.
Its got to the point where Labels will not touch you if you dont have the following.
1. a fan base
2. people like your songs - wether they are covers or not
3. you have an appeal (maybe your young, maybe your good looking etc)
If I was you i would set up an account on all social networks and start recording your own home videos/music. Invest in a mic, invest in some recording software (Audacity is free), invest in a vid camera - even if its a webcam and then start making your own vidoes.
When you get yourself a following set up your own website or join somewhere like soundclick and become a VIP (that way you can have a uniquie URL like 'yourname.com'.. Get all your stuff up there.
All the while you should be networking, speaking with other artists, if your doing a mixtape, try and get someone the industry may have heard of.. shine off the back of them if you get what i mean. Get in touch with all the promotional websites such as RnbXclusive, RNB4U etc and send them your stuff to promote (if its good quality)
All of this stuff will help you out and if your good enough you have a small shot at achieving your goal.. but a small chance is alot bigger of a chance than nothing...
*Remember - On top of all this you need to get yourself a good manager.*
