Mail Delivery How can Liberals compare USPS mail delivery to Healthcare when they argue for government intervention?
I mean if healthcare is equivalent to mail delivery how can you argue that healthcare is a right?
These are two entirely different systems we're talking about. And the USPS is billions of $$$$ in debt but hey...money is just paper right?
Excellent points. I don't have the "right" to get a letter mailed, I have to pay for it. And I will never get it mailed on Sunday and probably soon not Saturday, either.
I think the appropriate comparison is really public education, but that doesn't help their cause, either. We keep throwing money at that, too, but quality doesn't improve.
beren, that's not even a valid comparison. FedX cannot send a letter for $.44 and go $7 billion in debt. That point is exactly why the government should stay out of healthcare. But if the point is that private entities CAN compete with government services, we already know it, because of the public education/ private education comparison. Some of us just don't wish to continue seeing the decline of the middle class as liberals push us increasingly into 2 lines, creating a 3rd world nation.
Is a designated spot required to get USPS mail delivery at a business?
Will the USPS slide mail under the door for a business that is not open weekdays when normal deliveries are made? Or is the business required to have a slot for delivery of mail? What are the USPS regs?
If the business does not have a door slot or mail box, the Post Office will not deliver mail. Mail is marked "No Mail Receptacle" and returned to the sender. Some businesses that do not have door slots or mail boxes make arrangements with their local office to hold mail on weekends then that mail is delivered on the next business day. Some businesses get such a large volume of mail that they have what is called a "Caller Service", and pick up their mail at their local Post Office. The letter carrier will NOT slide mail under the door.
I've estimated that I need about 12 mics to record everything on my kit, so I'm looking for a way to record that will allow me to record all 12 tracks at once. I was looking into some USB mixers, but most of them weren't capable of recording more than 4 or so tracks at one time, even with 16+ inputs. I was looking into an audio interface, but I know literally next to nothing about them. And every time I look up recording drums, the only information given is mic choice and mic placement, and never about actually getting the sound recorded and onto a computer. Can anyone here tell me what I should do to get my drum set recorded, and what equipment I should get to streamline the process? Many thanks.
Also, two things. One: I'm a college student, so my budget isn't very high. And two: I plan to use Cubase 5, and I've heard from many people that Cubase will fight me every step of the way when it comes to most hardware and equipment. Just thought I should mention that.
Daniel is correct. Using closely placed mics on all the different drums, cymbals and traps is a thing done in live situations where there is a high stage volume. Using a pair of mics in such a situation would pull in too much sound from all the other instruments. If your recording sessions are done with the whole band playing at the same time you need to use an isolation booth or isolation barriers. You may have to use more than two mics for different effects such as putting a bit of reverb on the snare without getting it on everything else but you shouldn't need 12 mics. If you feel that you MUST use all 12 mics then get a separate 12 channel mixer. You could probably pick up a used Mackie 1204 for around $150 - a good inexpensive mixer. Many times an outboard mixer is used during live performances when the drum kit is elaborate - a "sub - mix."

Pretty good set up and would play almost all games decently except perhaps Oblivion and Crysis. I would rate your rig an 8.5. 10 goes for an 8800 Ultra paired with an E6850.

HP media centre / center upgrade?
I have just bought the below HP media center / centre PC:
*(NEW) HP PAVILION ELITE M9170A MEDIA PC, MIDI TOWER, BLACK/SILVER, INTEL CORE 2 DUO PROCESSOR E4500 (2.20GHZ/2 MB/800MHZ FSB), 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM, 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3G HARD DRIVE, HD DVD ROM, LIGHTSCRIBE DVD+/-RW DUAL LAYER DRIVE, NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400GS 3D PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS (DVI/HDMI/TV-OUT)( 256MB DDR2 DEDICATED GRAPHICS MEMORY, UP TO 1023MB TOTAL AVAILABLE GRAPHICS MEMORY AS ALLOCATED BY WINDOWS VISTA), INTEGRATED 10/100/1000 BASET NETWORK INTERFACE (BROADBAND READY), WIRELESS 802.11 B/G LAN,
I am happy with it so far, but was wondering what basic upgrades I could do to improve performance? I what would be the best bang for my buck upgrade – eg 2gb memory upgrade, more hard drive space?
