What are some good rap albums with live instruments?
Hey folks, I have built a substantial music collection already, but what I don't have much of are rap/hip-hop CDs with a true emphasis on live instruments where professional musicians is actually playing instruments and some real time was put into composing the music. I want something other than machine percussion and computer generated music and samples every now and then.
Some examples of rap CDs I already have that fit this description include:
Jazzmatazz Series - Guru
Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Lauryn Hill
The Roots greatest hits.
What else would you guys recommend? I want something truly musical
Cypress Hill - Skull and Bones (the rock one)
Outkast does some stuff here and there, like the song Don't chu worry about me

I just wanted to know how to get sounds like the ones used in there especially the percussion because sounds like these are way better than the synthy ones that are so easy to find
Sample from vinyl records. If you don't own any, you shouldn't be producing.
