Presonus Inspire 1394 will record electric guitar but not from mics?
So I just broke out my new recording equipment: A Presonus Inspire 1394 recording interface, an AT2020 mic, and an AT2021 mic.
When I attach my electric guitar directly to the interface, it records into GarageBand just fine. However, when I attach either mic, the interface picks up nothing. There can't be something wrong with both mics, can there? Could it be the mic cable?
I don't know much about microphones or any type of recording for that matter, so any help would be great!
Emily - You need to make sure the "phantom power" is on when you use these mics. I think it is selected in the software with that interface. Your mics need that to be on in order for them to work.
