Midi Remote Is there some way I can use my Yamaha MIDI-compatible drums to play guitar hero world tour on the Wii?
The Wii has 2 USB sockets on the back and I got a cable which can connect my drum set to the Wii with a USB socket. It won't sense it as drums though because the Wii's drums for guitar hero world tour, guitar hero Metallica and guitar hero smash hits/greatest hits.
The drum set designed for these guitar hero games plug in directly to the Wii remote.
So this is what I read which makes me think it's somehow possible to use my MIDI-compatible drums.
Is there like something I can download or a patch or something to let me do this?
Sorry.... I think I should have worded this a bit better. Oh well, the extra detail isn't even that necesarry anyway.
The drums have 7 pads and 2 pedals
What I understood (but hasnt tried yet because I have no midi<>midi wire) is that you can plug your Yamaha drumkit to the GH drumkit, using the midi ports that each of them have.
The signal will go from your Yamaha to the GH drums to the Wiimote to the Wii.
What I'd like to do is get rid of the GH drum kit in the middle of this chain, because this makes no sense to have 2 kits standing in the room when you just need to hit one of them.
Midi Software Controller Recording MIDI controller in Reason 3.0?
Hello all, I recently bought an M-Audio Keystation 61es to use with Reason 3.0. After plugging it in and setting it up with Reason software, It still wont record. I can hear every key--whether it be redrum, nn-xt, subtractor, etc. and every box that's supposed to light up does. My MIDI controller just wont record! It is very frustrating, and I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere! Any advice?
p.s. I've updated drivers, and added my controller in Reason's preferences, still no luck.
What are you recording WITH? Reason? If so, do you have a midi track set up and record enabled? Press record? (Sorry you never know).
I assume also you know that reason will only record the midi messages themselves- not the sounds.
My advice - try to record with another MIDI controller to pinpoint your problem... might have nothing to do with your controller... and probably doesn't if it is triggering the sounds.
