Why is there a soundtrack delay on my PS3 Blu-Ray?
The sound and the action has about a one second difference...
Check your connections to the TV and sound system (if you have one). Then go to the Settings Section, and go to Video Settings. Scroll down until you find an option that says "BD/DVD Audio Output Format (HDMI)". Select it and select the option "Linear PCM". Then find the option that says "BD Audio Output Format (Optical Digital)" and put that to Linear PCM as well. IF it doesn't work, go back to the settings section, go to Audio Settings, and go through the Audio Output Settings. select the cable you are using, and make sure that 'DTS 5.1 Surround Sound Ch." is UNCHECKED. I hope one of these options work.

Why won't the Blu Ray audio play from my Playstation 3 to Surround Sound via optical cable?
I put in one blu-ray video and the sound worked but it wasn't really that sharp. I had to turn it up almost to the max, then I played a video game and it worked great.... and then I tried to watch Avatar, and it wouldn't play any audio with that blu-ray....
my video is going through HDMI to TV,
Audio is going from Playstation 3 to Surround Sound using a medium grade optical cable (rocketfish 30$ from Best Buy) I turned on all formats of audio to play through optical cable... it's really aggrevating... cause I bought a 4ft cable and not sure if its going to be long enough to reach to the TV.... so if there is anyway I can get this to work without that'd be great otherwise I am going to have to wait for some one to come help me take my tv off the wall to hook it up... but will audio match without delay that way? Please Help
Optical is going to give you problems with blue ray audio. Most blue ray audio is dolby digital plus or dolby true hd (7.1) neither of which can be carried by an optical cable. Some movies might work but a movie like avatar is definitely going to have a soundtrack that won't work with optical, The only way to make sure your system works every time is to use HDMI all the way. HDMI carries both audio and video so run ur ps3 to ur receiver using hdmi and then run hdmi out of your receiver to your tv. Simply lose the optical and just go HDMI 100 percent. Since you already paid 30 dollars for a four foot long optical cable, I'm just going to remind you that we are dealing with digital technology. HDMI is like USB for home theater. You would never buy a cable for your printer costing more than ten dollars so why in the world do people actually believe companies like monster and sales people at best buy when they buy these cables. Trust me, I've done my research and unless you are setting up an imax at your house, please do yourself a favor and just get the cheapest hdmi cable you can find. Blue ray is really only for hdmi setup (thats why youre having problems).
