Does anyone know how to download free music sequencing software?
Such as cubase or any other good music software people know of. I also need a site or packaged with the software sound effects that I can mix or sources of music that I can mix.
Thanks!
If anyone knows a source on the internet as well where I can download movies (youtube doesn't seem to work for downloading) then please leave a link.
I am making a documentary and need my own music and some footage with little children in the war times and I am going to show how even then we were multicultural - that is just an example.
THANKS!
By the way I am 14 years old and I am doing it for a project so I am allowed to use any copyrighted material. Just need some more resources etc
You can get Protools free from Download.com or Digidesign.com.
Be aware that you can't use footage from anywhere. There are legalities involved. Do your homework.
any body make music who thinks cubase is the best software to make music?drum and bass?
It's good, but this question is more of a matter of preference. I really like pro tools, because I feel more comfortable with the controls, it is what I am used to. I think just about any multitrack recording software is going to be about the same, it is just a little different layout of controls. What really matters is the mics you use and how/where you place them in relation with the speakers. Basically, they are all good, it is just what you feel more comfortable with. I play with a live band, and recorded a CD about a month ago. I will give you a little advice on the drums, use a slight amount of chorus on the cymbals. It gives them a little shimmering sound, which sounds like a real live cymbal reverberating in a room.
i have currently a microphone MXL 990 (havent used it yet since I can't plug into computer), an akai miniak ( which is unopened since I didn't receive what I wanted from ebay), I'm running logic on my mac book pro, I have my guitars and a line 6 guitar port which works well with garageband but can never manage to use it with logic and finally a mbox 1 which I found out after buying it that it is uncompatible with mac book pro since it is so old.
what should i do?
i was thinking selling mbox, akai miniak and buying mbox 2 and akai mpk mini.
any suggestions?
Sounds like you're looking to acquire equipment for a studio rather than "build" one. Building one requires a lot of $, an acoustic soundscaping specialist, a thoughtful & imaginative mind, and a bunch of building materials.
Cubase Package is there a laptop powerful enough to support a recording package such as cubase?
I'm no expert but judging by the Steinberg (makers of cubase) support forum (http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/) - yes, as long as high spec ie at least 512 RAM preferably 1gig. At least equivalent to Athlon 2800; and decent hard drive 60gig plus. Obviously need top end sound card as well
