Recording vocals on Pro Tools !?
i have pro tools le 8, an mbox 2, and a condenser microphone..last month when i recorded a song, the vocals sounded perfect, then i went on vacation, and just got home last week. this tuesday i brought my mic over to my friends house to record his singing and then brought it back home. today i tried recording and it sounds like the recording has a natural 'reverb' sound and it sounds really bad. i went over to best buy today and the guy told me it has nothing to do with the mic or the room but it has to do with the settings. im in need of help !
Pro Tools will not add reverb to your vocals unless you add them. Check your microphone preamp settings... It can't be pro tools... it seems like it would be the room more than anything.
BTW, people who work at best buy are not qualified to answer questions regarding home studios

Help using ProTools MBOX 2 in Live Performance?
Pro Tools has a neat plug-in for midi called the DB-33 organ. I would like to use this in live performance with a local jazz group. So, I hooked up my laptop, mbox 2, keystation, and amp, and started getting this awful hiss. Its bearable I suppose, but not much fun in between songs. There's nothing wrong with the amp. I've checked. But when I use the audio out of the mbox 2, I get the hiss. I get it regardless if its plugged into the headphone jack or the monitor out in the back of the unit. And the amp hisses regardless which input I use. Is there away to eliminate this hiss? Please help, I start gigging this week....
Sounds like it might be impedance mismatching. Your signal is coming out of Pro Tools at a +4dBu line level. Make sure it is going into a +4dBu line level in your amp. I'm not sure if there is a difference between the MBox's line outputs and monitor outputs. Look at your users guide that came with it and try to find out if theres a difference.
