Recording Interface Usb
USB mixer and recording interface?
hey guys 
so i've been looking for a mixer that is also an interface (via USB) Alesis iMultimix 8 sort of thing. i have around £200-250 to spend, so it's not really that much. i'm looking for other suggestions, so any help is appreciated!
The Phonic Helix boards are pretty good. I have a Phonic Helix Board 24 (which is actually FireWire) and my friend has the Phonic Helix Board 12 (USB).
They work well with Windows and Mac and are easy to use. I've also used my Board 24 as a mixer in its own right, for live events and that kind of thing.
They are very reasonably priced.

Go with USB mic or traditional mic paired w/audio interface for home studio?
I'm putting together a very small home studio, mostly for recording vocal tracks over pre-recorded instrumentals. After reading tons of info, I'm now less sure than ever whether to go with a decent USB mic or with a traditional cable mic that's routed through an audio interface.
I won't be connecting any other instruments or mics, so I'm leaning toward the one USB mic.
Thoughts?
Good question. The main factor when answering this question is budget. If you want great sound quality, go for stand alone microphone. But if you're going for that, you'll also need cables, mic preamp and good audi interface.

If you're on a budget, just buy a USB mic. I recommend AT2020.
