Boss GT-10B Bass Guitar Multi Effects Pedalboard Demo
What guitar effects pedals sound good on bass?
or which bass effects are best?
I like to use a wah, flanger, phaser, and digital delay.you can get a cool vibe by programming the delay at about 1 half of the bpm's of the song, but you gotta make sure to set the feedback to short, and make sure you stop your sound before the delay repeats.
Also you can use a distortion pedal but you really need to roll off the bass and low mids.
I use a Johnson pod for guitar it has all these effects and we use them all except its autowah.Another cool thing is a detune
you can get a radical keyboard/pad sound from the bass, its weird but really cool when appropriate
I'm looking to buy some sort of accessory for my partners bass guitar (for a birthday gift).
I've been looking at effects pedals (this is his first guitar and is just starting out) but have no clue about such things. I'm not looking to pay more than £100 (needs to be from a UK supplier). Can anyone recommend something that may be worth buying?
Would consider any other type of equipment for bass guitar/home recording studio etc...
the Line 6 BassPOD is a good way to go... its not really an Effects pedal, but a tone / FX modeler,
in short, you can model well known types of bass sounds and effects, then tweak them to your specs....
this is a VERY good tool for "finding yourself" then once you're found, you can go and get the actual gear you need to produce your particular tone...
another +++ is that you can find these used for relatively cheap, not too much more expensive than a pedal... but definitly 10x more useful!
enjoy!
EDIT:::: Threw in another link for you the 2nd link is to a page where you can listen to this thing in action! that should really help your decision process...
What do you call an effects pedal that gives off a bass effect, but for a 6 string guitar?
I'm trying to find a guitar effects pedal (standard 6 string electric) that creates a deep boom sound but it's hard to type it in without having pedals come up for a bass guitar, which is not what i'm looking for.
I think you're looking for an octave divider pedal. These effects devices will output a note an octave lower than the one you are playing.
You can mix the octave with the natural sound any way you like, or only hear the octave.
Cosm Effects Which overdrive/distortion guitar pedal(s) to purchase?
I've played guitar for years now and haven't really used many guitar effects. I've tested things out with friend's pedals and amp effects, but now I want to get more serious into it. I have a wah and chorus pedal, but now I need to get into overdrive/distortion! I do like the Boss brand, and am not sure if I should purchase a single overdrive pedal AND distortion pedal, or if I should get the Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal or even the Boss OD-20 Drive Zone Twin Pedal w/COSM. So confused with what to do! I'm a bit tight on money, but my mind won't allow me to buy something of poor of quality just because of money issues.
Overall, I just want to be able to play a song with overdrive, having the ability to switch to distortion and back without having to stop mid-song and adjust settings.
Thanks for future advice!
i would seriously consider just getting a multi sound board. it might be about 100 but it has so many features. great for any music trust me. plus you can set new sounds. this one is frickin brilliant. ive had it 4 3 years.

I would like to buy a small amp for an acoustic/electric guitar, any suggestions?
I heard this is a good one http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Roland-Micro-Cube-Battery-Powered-Amp-with-COSM-and-Effects?sku=480196
But would like to hear what other's have to say if you have a favorite small amp that you use as well. I would like more options to choose from. Thank you.
If you tell me a brand name please be specific as to which one. There are to many to look up. Thank you.
Yes, that is a nice little amp and exactly the one I was going to suggest. The price is right and the technology is sound. Go for it.
