Pro Tools Hd 1 Core Is this the right computer for me?
Up until now, I've been using a Macbook (late 2009 model) with a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. With the Adobe Master Suite and Autodesk Maya *which doesn't seem to work on this Mac* and Blender, and Zbrush. I major in Media Arts, and will be doing intensive 3D design starting this fall. I've only recently realized that this mac is nowhere near what I need for this.
So today I purchased a Dell Inspiron 14R with a 2nd-gen Intel i3, 2.10GHz, 6GB RAM, and the graphics card is Intel HD Graphics/HD Graphics 3000 with up to 1.6GB Dynamic Video Memory.
Was this a good choice for me?
Note: I will be purchasing a desktop computer in the near future, so it's okay if I can't use ALL the 3D applications (ex. 3DS Max, Maya), but would I be able to use video editing software like Final Cut Pro? And would I be able to have a large memory capacity in Paint Tool Sai (So I can work with a very large canvas)? Please help. Thank you!
