I'm looking for a piece of software that will seperate songs into individual instruments?

I know it's an odd request, but I'm an avid cubase user, and I can't find a good piece of software to take songs apart into individual instruments, also, I seem to remember a plug in that would steal the eq from mp3s so you could apply it in cubase, can anyone out there guide me in the right direction?

I also am an avid cubase user, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by stealing EQ??
as for seperating elements of a mixed track, it is possible to isolate vocals in a stereo track through careful use of eq and because vocals are usually placed right in the middle of the stereo field, you can remove elements that are placed slightly to one side or the other, however its gonna be almost impossible to isolate single instruments from a live band or aurally busy track, you might have slightly more luck if the track is minimalist eg techno/electro house, or the track has areas where the bit you like is soloed so you can possibly loop it, eg the lead guitar right at the start of "sweet child of mine" or drum elements by EQing out the parts you dont want, but as far as I know, there is no program that does what you want perfectly.
As an idea, you could look at the latest version of antares autotune which can alter certain frequencies without affecting others; this could possibly be used to leave the part you want untouched, then pitching other unwanted parts way up or down so you can remove them by EQing them down and out. I should imagine it wont sound perfect but its just an idea.
