I have a 1999 Mercury Cougar. The car runs great. I have 2 problems with it...
1) The car alarm will randomly go off. There is no pattern to the alarm it just makes all kinds of noises. I actually have to get in the car and turn it on to get it to stop and even that doesnt stop it. It's pretty annoying.
2) I also have a problem with my interior light fuse. I've put in the reccommended fuse and it continues to blow. It also controls my motorized mirrors. I know electrical work is a pain so i've just lived without those 2.
If anyone can give me some help that would be awesome.
Hey, i have this same problem. It started just yesterday and keeps going off constantly. Even turning on the car doesnt work. I think i'm just going to take it into the shop but while i'm driving the alarm will still be going off. Hopefully no one gets mad haha. Email me if you get any good responses and i'll do the same. Thanks!
Controlled Relay How do I wire an 8 pole contacter relay to control 8 lighting circuits?
Im trying to control 8 lighting circuits off a time clock to energize circuits.
Any help would be appreciated.
Supply voltage would be wired to all of the connectors on the supply side of the contactor. Each lighting circuit would then be connected to a different contact on the other side of the contactor.
Where is the cruise control relay or fuse for a '97 Plymouth Voyager?
The cruise control went out (no longer working) in our 1997 Plymouth Voyager and we can't seem to locate the fuse for it. Can you help?
I believe there's a fuse for the cruise control inside the vehicle in the fuse box but if I was you I'd also check the black wire you see under the hood going to the cruise control servo assembly. You'll see two cables going to a device under the hood that go to the throttle body assembly , that device is the servo , trace the wires going from it there will be a black ground wire , trace it it should be connected to the chassis via a screw or bolt , remove the screw or bolt etc clean the wire connector and metal surface with a wire brush , sandpaper , file etc and be sure the surfaces are quite clean then clean the screw or bolt too and reconnect it.
Note that the ground wire could be internally corroded etc and you might need to replace it and run a new wire the same gage or thickness from the servo to the chassis or battery's negative terminal.
Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way the fuse box covers should tell you what fuse , relay etc does what and don't forget to check the power distribution centre or fuse box under the hood that's on the drivers side I believe.I've fixed many such issues and have found replacing or fixing the grounds usually fixes them.
Usb Control Surface Mac keyboard plugged into usb port on Xbox 360 MALFUNCTIONING!?
My keyboard, while playing Phantasy Star Universe, was working fine before, but for some reason the 'delete' key now enters '', though if I hold the 'alt(option)' or 'control' key and THEN press 'delete', surprising functions. Also, during gameplay, while my keyboard sat on a flat surface, the '+' sign would be typed and erased on it's own, and when I would go to type with the keyboard, what I type would get erased. Last, the 'return'(enter) key doesn't work in the center, (same thing, holding alt & ctrl make it work), though the enter key on the far right works.
Any ideas?
throw bananas covered in chocolate at it and buy a ps3

KVM Switch issue/question?
Hopefully this will come out clear as I am having a hard time describing it. I need a solution that effectively uses a 3rd KVM switch to combine 2 other KVM switches, so I can use the same keyboard and mouse on both.
I have two BlackBox ServSwitch 4Sites each displaying a quad screen on two different LCDs (8 systems total). I can run a seperate mouse and keyboard for each, but the command desk gets crowded with that much equipment just on the surface. I would need something that could take each USB output (mouse and keyboard) from each KVM and combine down to some KVM or something that could give me one mouse and keyboard to control both, obviously not at the same time though.
Thanks!

Can i use a traxxas xl-1 speed control on a titan 12 turn electric motor?
i have an old traxxas rustler and the manual rotary speed control is broken but i wanted to go with something faster, but no too expensive. Will this speed control be faster or slower that the manual rotary speed control? what kind of motor can be connected to the xl-1? is it a good speed control in the fist place? ids it old? will it even fit in the old rustler? i have so many questions about it and need an expert very badly!
what type of traxxas vehicle was this speed control first in? what type of motor is made for it?
The 12 turn Titan motor is too much for the XL-1. It will blow it and all the magic smoke will come out. The XL-1 will handle the Traxxas Stinger 20 turn, or and 27 turn stock motor, but nothing really any hotter.
If you get a XL-5, it will handle the 12 turn just fine.
