Would putting new NGK performance spark plugs in my 05 Civic DX (54,000 miles) be bad for the motor?

The other day I went to buy some NGK spark plugs for my 05 Civic DX, currently at 54,000 miles. But when I asked my buddy who owns the import parts store that I buy my stuff from for a price he said that it wouldnt be good for my car to switch out the factory plugs so soon.

After prompting him to explain himself, he gave me a semi-long explanation as to why it would be in my best interest to keep the factory plugs in the car at this point in the vehichle's life. Just about 30 seconds into his explanation I lost him completely and just nodded my head through the rest of it without actually comprehending what he was saying. However, I do recall him saying something about the plugs getting hot. I dont think he would lie to me (I mean he lost a sale), and he is really knowlegable about cars, but I just wanted to get other opinions about this.

Is it really better for me to keep the stock plugs and cables in the car right now?

it doesnt really matter, the ngk spark plugs get hotter because it burns the gas faster and then you'll have a little more power

Alpine amplifier is burnt?

i purchased an alpine amplifier from ebay, and the clamp for the battery cable looks like its been burnt, and the plastic surrounding area has obviously melted slightly. is it normal for the battery terminal to get hot like that or did the previous owner not have the wire properly hooked up? i dont know if this is going to be an issue or not, i imagine that the amp is working however if it doesnt you can bet im gonna file a bad sale claim on ebay to be getting my money back, im just wondering if its a normal thing for amps to do that? only the battery clamp area looks toasted not any of the other speaker wire clamps or anything. if the thing works i dont really care if its burnt there or not im just kind of curious as to wether or not this is normal and what the cause may be? thanks

Should I buy the microsoft Zune? ?

Right now it's on sale for $100 plus tax for a 8GB and i always wanted something with a radio so i preferred this instead of an ipod but if it's a bad product then of course radio isn't really a big deal. So if anyone has an expierence with it , it would help or know the pros and cons of it.. And does anyone know if it comes with a charger or if the usb cable can charge? Also, i heard it has wi-fi? I'm not sure but i'm just wondering if it does and if it does; if it's good? Thanks all

I just recieved my 4GB Zune today. Overall it's a pretty good alternative to an iPod. It has very good sound quality, and many features. It comes with some preloaded content, including music, videos, photos, and podcasts. You can choose to delete these if you wish. (If you ever reset the device, you'll lose all of the preloaded content...I did). The 3.0 software includes 2 games, Hexic and Texas Hold 'Em. And, Microsoft just added 3 more to the website that should be available soon, including Sudoku, Space Battle, and Checkers.(All games are free) Just like most MP3 players, the Zune does not include a separate charger. The device is charged through the USB sync cable. Yes, the Zune has wi-fi, but not for internet browsing. You can wirelessly share songs, sync with your pc, and view a small version of the Zune Marketplace. As far as the design goes, it's a durable player, with a glass screen, and brushed aluminum backing, so therefore it is pretty scratch resistant. However, it's not as thin as the iPod nano. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something other than an iPod.

you can use any old ethernet cable then you just stick it in to the router

cubase zoom crackling/hissing?

I have Cubase LE 4 and a Zoom G2Nu pedal. Everything is fine for the first, 30 seconds maybe. Guitar sounds clear, recording is perfect. Then it crackles really badly. I can still record and hear the song but barely. It is unworkable. How do I stop the crackle? I have to exit cubase or turn the pedal off for the crackling to stop. Its driving me mad. The Version of Cubase LE 4 is 4.1.3. The Zoom G2Nu is 1.01.

You probably have to set your latency higher. The lower the latency, the faster you will get sound problems if your computer and/or sound card isn't fast enough. You'll either have a setting called Latency or the Buffer. Latency is in milliseconds, and the Buffer is in samples. Either way, turn the value up more until the crackling goes away. If you're using the Zoom ASIO drivers and recording by USB, set Cubase to run as ASIO in the driver mode setting. For latency, your Zoom drivers you installed will be in the control panel. You can raise the Latency from there. Keep in mind that the higher the latency is set, the more delay you'll have between the guitar playing and the sound actually coming out on the computer.

I have the same problem randomly in Cakewalk Sonar with Windows 7. I've researched the hell out of it and we're not the only ones. For my instance, I've concluded that it's a software issue between Windows 7 and Sonar not enabling the sound devices properly. For my issue, I'll be recording my band, and randomly it will start to crackle and fizz, getting worse as it goes. I learned that Windows 7 has much higher latencies in the sound engine and it's conflicting the problem. Doesn't matter where I set my latency to. I'm using an M-Audio 1010LT.

As a beginner, what MIDI Keyboard should I buy? (up to $70, prefer something less)?

I want a MIDI Keyboard that will integrate nicely with Propellerhead Reason, within the price range above. Any recommended brands or even better actual models I should be looking for?

M-Audio E Keys 37 is like fifty bucks but is basically a toy. I would go the extra $25 and get the E Keys 49

I personally use a M-Audio Axiom. It's over $200, but it works for me.
