do midi cables transfer electrical power like usb cables?

I just bought the Yamaha KX49 midi controller and the box did not come with an AC power adapter but it says it should have one and the midi device has a power slot for an AC adapter. I called the store and they said the USB can power it but i might want to use midi cables also. Do i need the power adapter? and was the store lying when they said that the product doesnt come with the AC adapter when the box and instructions says it comes with it?

Midi cables will not transfer enough electricity to power the device.

If the box says it comes with an adapter and the store says it does not the box wins, return the item and request one with the adapter included.

Yamaha YPG535 88 Key Portable Grand Piano with Power Supply

pro audio question, on a Yamaha MG16/6FX mixer, can you buy the power cord and ac adapter anywhere?

I have a mixer that Im interested in on ebay. BUT, it has no ac adapter with it. O have done some research about finding one, but no luck. Help!

The Yamaha supply is a PA-30, it is in your mixer's owners manual:

That is a special 35 volt supply. You probably will not have another like it at home.

Is it possible to plug Video(yellow)-Left sound-Right sound to 75 ohm (cable tv in)?

I cant find an adapter anywhere. I have an older TV with one input - 75 ohm coaxial. Is it not possible?

Yes it is. What you are looking for is called an RF modulator. Radio Shack sells it as well as many other stores. It turns the video and audio into channel 3 or 4 on your television.

I have bought USB pcmcia cant get it working?

I have bought a USB pcmcia cardbus. I hav downloaded the drivers and the computer rcognises it. When I put in any USB device, nothing happens. In the maual it says that the power supply i running at 100Ma for each port. It came with a USB power cable, but I am unable to use my computers original USB port as my nephew has buggered that one up for me. I am ble to use a 5v adapter in place of the USB power. Which in the manual says that each port will run at 500Ma. What is Ma. Will my USB devices work with 500Ma power.

500mA it will be, that's MILLI AMPS; or 1/2 amp

Try connecting a USB device to the card, THEN plugging the adapter in.

If it STILL doesn't see USB devices contact seller, you MAY have a faulty device

PCMCIA Cards?

Ok, I have an older compaq presario 2190us laptop. It has (to my knowledge with windows) a Type I/II/III with support and 32-bit card bus. What type of networking pc card will work with this? Given this laptop is years old Im not sure if the newer cards will work (32 bit cardbus) it is an OZ6912 PCMCIA Cardbus controller. Right now I am using a WAP but I want to be able to use the PCMCIA (wireless)

I think today's cards should still work fine. If you want to be safe, just try one, and take it back if it doesn't work.

how do u start up a yamaha 700cc wave venture?

i don't see the water hose adapter on the engine, please help

It's not on the engine. Remove the forward seat. On the hull area just in front of the rear seat (the area that would have been covered had the forward seat been on) there is a hole where you connect the water hose adapter. Hook up the hose, turn on the water, and start the engine. It's no big deal to start the engine for a few seconds without the water.

Opening of Box - NP30 Yamaha Portable Digital Grand Piano

Would a Keytar (Yamaha SHS-10) work if connected to Garageband (the application on iMac)?

For Christmas I am asking for a keytar, the Yamaha SHS-10 in particular. I understand that the SHS-10 DOES have a small speaker which gives off some mediocre sound, but I would much prefer something better. I do not currently have a keyboard in my possession.

I have a guitar which through an amp plug and other adapter can be played through Garageband onto the speakers on my mac. I can also add effects to give the guitar various pedals such as overdrive for example.

Could I apply this principal to Garageband? If I were to plug my keyboard into the mac and start playing, would it be amplified through the speakers. Also, would I be able to add various effects?

dude with the yamaha shs-10 and garageband you can do a ton!
The keytar you mentioned also has a midi out, which if you research, means you can use it to play the various instruments already on garageband. For example the keyboard you can pull up on garageband to play notes with your computer's keyboard, well instead of using your computer's keyboard with the keytar you can use That! so yeah the only thing you will need is a wire that has a midi end and a usb end so you can plug your keytar into your computer then your set!

ps. the reason why i know so much about it is because i am receiving the same keytar very soon and its midi capability is why i beame so interested in it

What is the best Interface for me?

I've got a mixer with 2 overhead condensers, a snare mic and a kick mic (for recording drums obviously)
I want an interface so i can edit each drum track individually when i put it through cakewalk (snare, bass, overhead 1, overhead 2). Any suggestions on a cheap 4 input 4 output interface that'll get the job done?

sound blaster makes a variety of high end sound cards with more than one input, otherwise multiple cards will also do the trick.

MIDI Keyboard and Interface?

So I own a MacBook Pro and have been researching how to start up a small home recording project but some of the terminology has been hard to understand (I think some people misuse it).

I want to get a MIDI Keyboard like the M-Audio Keystation 88es but don't know if I need a separate interface to plug the MIDI Keyboard into? Also I just ordered a condenser mic and I know I need an interface for that, if the midi Keyboard has an interface built in could I use the keyboard as the mics interface as well? Anyways, I hope that makes sense. Thanks for your time.

P.S. Any cheap suggestions for parts would be nice as well!

That keyboard has a USB output so it will connect directly to the computer - no interface needed for it. Your mic cannot connect to the keyboard, it will need a USB interface with phantom power:
