Ableton Live 7 MIDI tutorial?
Can somebody please help me set up MIDI on ableton live? Im using a MIDI Uno USB connector and a Microkorg and I cannot figure out how to use it at all. haha
Midi can be very frustrating thats for sure. The first thing is, your midi interface should come with a cd for drivers. In particular AISO drivers. You will have to select those drivers in Ableton. I dont remember where the Ableton settings are but, find settings, audio, then select your midi interface. Then go to midi, and make sure that your midi interface is chose there. Then your keyboard should work with Live. There is a little dot on Live somewhere that flashes as you push the keys on your keyboard. This tells you that Ableton is recieving information from your keyboard. Then add a midi track. In the left pane, you will look for Abletons synths, vsts, plugins. You can choose Thor for this track. Inside the thor rack, there is a window for presets. Choose a sound, play your keyboard and you should hear the sounds through your speakers. Then you can record the track.
Its hard to explain like this, but start with the first steps.
