JVC CamCorder Help! How to upload it onto computer?
So I am working on a movie project for this film class. I have a JVC GR-SXM250 VHS CamCorder. I believe I bought it back in 2003. I want to upload the video that I recorded on the tape to the computer. I don't think that I have a firewire plug in on the camcorder. Is there any other way that I can upload the video onto my PC? Thanks
If you got a JVC camcorder, or Panasonic camcorder or Canon MOD camcorder, you would have probably encountered such issue--- what to do with the MOD/TOD files----the God forsaken video format? And you want to convert the recorded .MOD file type to mpeg, avi, mkv, flv, mp4, wmv or whatever more common, so that you can put them on Youtube, Myspace, Google video and Hulu later on to share the camcorder video with your friends or more people? And there is another headache thing is that most major video editing suites seem to unwillingly accept the MOD/TOD format. Even windows video maker, I have to say it's too complicated to use
Someone successfully made it simply by changing the extension from .mod to mpg, but for most people, they just failed only to find there is no audio after the extension is changed, or the changed one doesn’t allow you to import these files into Windows movie maker, not to mention upload some video to Youtube.com or Facebook.
any alternativs? There is a very simple program that convert .mod NOT ONLY to mpg but many others like avi, mkv, flv, mp4, wmv, rm, rmvd, mov, dv, mg2 and swf. MOD converter is the one shoot all the trouble. This excellent mod conversion tool is not just a converter but also a video editing tool. From now on, with the MOD converter, you can enjoy your mod video on many media player, even on portable devices like blackberry, Gphone, PSP, Creative Zen,etc.

Even with a firewire cable plugged in, I can't figure out how to import mini DVD footage into imovie.?
For a history project, my friends and I had to film some footage with our Sony Dvd camcorder, and now i can't figure out how to get the footage onto my MacBook to edit it with iMovie. I just bought a firewire cable, but when i plug it in with the camera, the camera just has the title screen with the different clips in its screen.
imovie is not recognizing it or even acting like anything has happened, and neither is my computer so i have no clue what I'm doing wrong!
please help because I have been trying to figure this out for hours and it's due this week!
You don't use a firewire or usb cable to import minidvd video. Firewire is for minidv and usb i for hard drive and flash drive.
If you have a mini dvd camcorder….
You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.
