Pro Tools Control I accidentally disabled the administrators account in XP pro. How do I get it back?
The other day I was messing with my computer trying to accomplish something, and I accidently disabled the administrators account. Now I can't install anything or change anything abou the computer without the error coming up:you do not have the permission to change these files. Or something like that. I have tryed going into safe mode and going startmenu> control panel> administrative tools> users> and then trying to deactivate the account from there, but it still has the same error. Any help would be appreciated
cheers
Robert
By the way, yohan's answer is where I get denied access. Thanks anyway
Ok this is what u do
go to start menu>settings>control panel
if in catagory veiw then switch it to classic view (it is much easier this way, to do so there is an option on the right hand side of the control panel window)
now double click Administrative Tools
then Computer Management
now a pop up of computer mangement window opens
on the left hand side there will b a list of options
click on Local users and groups
then click on the folder named Users
now on the right hand side of the window a list of users will populate
right click on the account named administrator
and select properties
a pop up window will open
under the general tab deselect the option (Account is disabled)
click apply
then ok

pro-lifers and pro-choicers, Fundy & Lib Christians can we agree?
To work together as a nation to reduce and eliminate abortion by preventing unwanted pregnencies?
We would need education, both on abstinance and other means of preventing pregency.
I know the most liberal of democrats would be more than happy to work towards this goal. Will the right wing go along?
Or will they say that birth control is 'ungodly'. And if they work to deprive us of the tools needed to stop UWP, aren't they guilty of continuing the abortion mills also?
anthony, I don't know how to break this to you, but lots of married women have abortions. And I don't know of a single school that passes out birth control and condoms. I may be wrong, but that is not my experience.
Birth control and condoms are handed out for (virtually) free at Planned Parenthood and a number of other facilities, but they are not available at public schools.
And why not? It seems that with the well documented failures of abstinence-only programs, the early age of sexual experience, and the acknowledgement that this is a DIVERSE country that has varying sexual values, making sexual health devices and methods available for those who want them is simply good public policy.
Abortion foes have it in mind not only to prevent pregnancy, but to convert the women to their own values and religion. If they truly want to reduce the number of abortions, then they need to help prevent pregnancy in the first place, and they darn well better be applying the MOST EFFECTIVE MEANS POSSIBLE in doing so. Set aside the effort to convert and speak with one voice, as was in Uganda's anti-AIDS successes:
A: Abstinence whenever possible.
B: Be faithful to one spouse
C: Condoms (along with other forms of Birth Control) whenever having sex outside of a life-long, monogamous relationship.

“I heard from a trustet source that the inner circuits of the MBoxes are similar to M-Audio’s stuff, the Mbox 3 Pro is the same like the profire 2626 with less I/O…”
I couldnt agree more.I have owned an HD 2 accel system, and the previous TDM systems.I then ditched pro tools cards at PT8 because i was mixing and composing more and more on the road with my macbook pro.Now at PT9 i have finally given up on pro tools because rtas instruments are so cpu intensive. The code must labrynthine, and now that i am getting film score work i am not happy not having freeze tracks or offline bounces. In 2011 thats ridiculous. With 8 gigs ram on my macbook and cubase and logic for the same price as pt9 and its instruments i am very happy doing film and final mix work.If its good enough for Hans Zimmer and Disney its good enough for me.
