How can I improve home network ?
Well, heres the setup: I have two computers, one notebook and one desktop, both connected to a wired/wireless network. My laptop is brand new (Duo Core 2 + 1.5 GB RAM) and my desktop is fairly old (Celeron 1.2 Ghz + 512 MB RAM). I keep my desktop for it's 250 GB hard drive. I TRY to stream/play music on my laptop from the MP3s saved on my desktop using Winamp, but every other song skips, freezes, glitches, lags, it goes by many names. I'm running a G Network capable of 54 Mbps, so what's the problem? Any tips or tricks would really help, because there's nothing worse than listening to your favorite song and then D.D.d.d.D.D.d.d...*broken record*. Am I being unreasonable or inconsiderate of my desktop's feelings ( system resources)?
I've tried archiving music folders, prioritizing Winamp, and tweaking it's real-time settings...SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
It might help to defrag the hard drive on the desktop.

sorry this is long but laptop running so slow
You should run CCleaner, that will delete most of these files without having to worry what you need and what you don't. (It won't delete files your system needs to run)

Another tool you could run is SuperAntiSpyware to get rid of your cookies and such.

And it might be an idea to buy a External Hard Disk (something like 320Gb) and put some files up there so you don't have to worry about space anymore.
