Do you think old Indian traditions are slowly disappearing?
I recently saw a seen from Water (Movie with John Abraham and Lisa Ray). It's the scene where John and Lisa finally meet and get to know each other. John says that India's changing and age old traditions are also changing. Do you think so? I am Indian, but I'm born and raised in Hong Kong. I don't know hindi or my mother-tongue malayalam. I don't know much about Indian festivals/whatnot. And I dont agree with traditions like arranged marriage. Do you think I'm distancing myself from my culture or is it common with NRIs? A lot of questions, I know, but please try and answer.
Change is inevitable, and since you are brought up outside of the traditional environment, it is just natural that you do not fit perfectly into the old Indian culture. After all, culture and environment go hand-in-hand. When one changes, the other would.

I'm not sure about the meaning of ur question.
* Normally for the first 3 years of the child, parents normally won't let the others take and play with their child.
* Parents spend most of their times with their child atleast for the first 6 months to 1 year.

It is similar to aroma therapy who's benefits are being used in the west now, was known to Indian traditions centuries ago. Actually thousands of years ago. Another good video! Thanks for spreading this knowledge in authentic Hindu tradition.
