Help please! Can someone who knows about laptops tell me if this is a good buy? I don't want to get riped off.
I am a college student and can't afford a laptop over $400. Found this offer online, they watn $349.99:

I didn't see any mention of a brand name. From the description, this is a very old computer. I would be extremely leery of purchasing hardware that is this old even if it advertises that it has been reconditioned. It probably only comes with a three month warranty if any warranty at all and it is likely to start giving you problems in a short amount of time. You may have problems running some newer software programs on it unless the only thing you need to do is web browsing and email. Microsoft does not support Windows 98 any longer which is something else to consider. I have seen advertisements for reconditioned Windows XP systems with Pentium 4 processors for around $400 and that would be a better deal in my opinion. Unless you are desparate, I would not invest in outdated technology.
