How can I alter an audio clip with Audacity to make it sound non-echoed?
If you have a recording that was done in a small room where there's a lot of echo, what sort of effect can you apply to make the sound better?

More specifically the term is reverberation or reverb for short.
It is part of the recorded sound and can't be removed.
Adding any sort of effect will most likely make it worse.
You might, I say again might, be able to lessen the effect using the graphic equalizer function by reducing the frequency range but this is a long shot.
The key to a good recording is proper microphone positioning and being in control of the recording situation plus a lot of experience.
The only way to do this is in a studio, at home or, if recording a concert, heaps of mics and a mega-dollar recording and mixing setup.
If the recording can't be repeated there is very little you can do, even if using a professional studio setup or expensive software program.
If the recording can be repeated position the mic as close as possible to the source and choose a location where there is little reverb - lots of furnishings, curtains etc.

That was exactly my thought. I could imagine this unit competing very well with similar spec’d units like Echo Audiofire 4, Focusrite Saffire 24, M-Audio Profire 610 etc., but only if the real street price would be in the similar range… otherwise I’d also spend the extra cash on the Ultralite.
