Desktop Studio Control How good does the picture quality of a TV tuner card compare to a set-top box, high def. picture?
I have a Dell Studio slim computer with a few minor upgrades.I use my 42" Sharp LCD as my monitor, have a wireless keyboard/mouse, and have good surround sound connected. The desktop is connected via HDMI and I have a great pic on HULU and similar sites. I was thinking of installing a TV tuner card for watching cable tv on it through my PC;and be able to record, etc. How much would my hi-def picture quality suffer (if any). And also, would I be able to use a universal remote (like a Logitech Harmony) to control the viewing. Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance.
The TV tuner card for your PC can receive TV signal over the air as well as from Cable. Hi-def picture quality will not suffer at all. If you have a HD antenna connected to your TV tuner card, you can pick up HD signal over the air without going through Cable. If you subscribe to HD Cable service, then the signal you get from your Cable company is HD, so your TV tuner card will be able to play HD as well.
As for as the remote goes, the TV tuner card comes with a remote, so you'll have to use that. Don't think the Logitech Harmony will work with it.

Help uninstalling a driver?
Hey everyone, i just tried to install the device driver that came with my samsung mobile so that i could connect my phone to my computer. However, the installation could not complete and it said i should check the website for an updated driver as mine may be out of date.
However, a 'samsung pc studio' icon still appears on my desktop and a list of samsung programs have appeared in my program list in control panel but i cannot seem to uninstall these as they have not properly installed.
Anyone know how i can remove these from my computer?
*IF* you tried going into Control Panel, Add/Remove progrqams and still can't uninstal the software...
I would try installing it again t see if it will sucessfully install. F it does then you can use the Add/Remvoe Programs to uninstall it.
IF that doesn't work you can try downloading the newest software for it and try installing it over the old as it were.
Or you can try deleting the Folders/Files of the 'old' driver yourself.
Or you can do a RESTORE to a date BEFORE you installed the old software..
