How to record keyboard music on computer, using Yamaha keyboard and Sony Acid Pro?

How to record keyboard music on computer, using Yamaha keyboard and Sony Acid Pro?
Here's my equipment:

Yamaha PSR-275
Yamaha PSR-280
M-AUDIO USB Midisport Uno MIDI cable
Sony Acid Pro 6.0

I'd like to edit/mix my music in Acid.... So I need to know how to "stream" my music into the computer (Acid).

I'm a total newbie with digital audio stuff.

I don't have any drivers or anything, and yes, I've tried to answer my question via Google.
I also don't understand what a VST intrument is... is it an electric keyboard like mine?

Thanks so much in advance!!!!

As others have answered, I'll say the same thing.

PowerTracks, or Band In A Box, or anything for that matter, can support multiple MIDI devices. The PSR-550 is a MIDI Device, as is Forte, the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, the Roland VSC, etc. The difference is that one is hardware, and the others are software.

Each MIDI Device can have information sent to it. In the case of PowerTracks Pro Audio, you can send information to ALL of them at the same time! That's where the confusion begins.

You need to know which MIDI device is selected for EACH TRACK!

If you know which Icon in Powertracks opens the MIDI Devices dialog box, click on it, otherwise, go to the Options Menu, and select MIDI Devices. The MIDI Driver Setup box will open. Each computer will be different, depending on what you have installed in it.

On the left side is the MIDI Input. On that side, you'll probably have something that says "Delta MIDI." Make sure that is selected.

The right side, or the Output Driver(s), is more complicated, since you may have several devices in there selected. Make sure the Delta MIDI is selected, and moved to the Top of the List.

If you have other MIDI output devices that you use, 'rank' them on the list in the priority that you use them. For instance, SoundFont Synths A and B may come next, if you have a Creative Card installed. Then, the Roland VSC.

Next, make sure the Re-Route MIDI Playback to a default DXi/VSTi Synth is turned off.

The Latency settings should be Timer=10, Synth Output=0, Audio=0.

Look at the Track window, and on the left side, in the Track Configure Box, at the very bottom of each box, there will be something that says "MIDI out:..." and whatever MIDI Device is 'default' that you've set up, in this case, the Delta MIDI, and the Channel for that track.

By right clicking in that Configure box, you can individually change EACH individual track to a different MIDI device. So, you could have a piano track playing to the PSR-550, and a bass track playing to the Forte Synth, at the same time, just by changing the MIDI Out setting ON EACH INDIVIDUAL TRACK!

Once you get it so that you can play back in 'real time', then you need to hook the Audio outputs of the PSR-550 to the Inputs of your Delta Card. I believe that it only has a headphone output, so you'll need to get a cable that goes from 1/4" TRS to Two RCA plugs to plug into the Delta. Then, you can record Audio from the PSR, as well.

Hope this walks you through step by step to get you what you need.
