which recording system?
i have a m-audio ozonic midi controller thingy. can i record my guitar straight to the computer with it, or do i have to sample the sound and play it through the keyboard? i also want to know other good devices that i can record straight to my computer whith. do you need to have firewire to record straight to your computer? i want something that makes recording easy and is $400 or less. what should i get? also, can you record using a mixing board? thanks-
go and look up definitions of the following:
mixing board
midi controller
computer sampling
midi sampling
How my computer works (you should prolly know what firewire is before you get into recording to your pc, i.e. if you didn't know firewire is just one of the many ways to connect peripherals to your computer, and often that USB is a little more popular, then you shouldn't be asking about recording just yet. Learn the basics first)
Recording - is not easy if you want quality.
Once you really know what you are talking about, and not guessing like above. come back and ask a real question.

Sounds fairly good... see if you can swap that keyboard and mouse for cabled... wireless is rubbish and a pain in the arse when it starts not working.

I understand what he meant, my point was purely that you aren’t getting new hardware. You are getting your [well used] original hardware back, for the most part. In an enterprise environment, time in the rack means portion of lifetime used up, so there’s a big difference.
